Gjógv

The beautiful village at the very northern end of Eysturoy Island got its unpronounceable name Gjógv (roughly read as ‘džof’) thanks to the two hundred metre long ravine that served and still serves as a perfect harbour.

Nearby above Gjógv is a popular viewpoint with newly built stairs leading to it. The path is quite steep, but with a little effort and rest everyone can manage it.
