Hvannavatn

Hvannavatn is a small lake on the northeastern shore of Suðuroy Island. The reward of visiting this place will be a beautiful walk and views of the steep rock walls on one side and the islands of Lítla Dímun, Stóra Dímun on the other. Behind the island of Stóra Dímun you will see the islands of Skúvoy and Sandoy.
The tour will take you about 3 hours, in some places it is difficult, but with a little care it can be done as a family trip. If you come here on the way past the Hvannagi viewpoint and don’t feel like walking back to your car through the pass between the rocks, just take the same way back.
