Älmeboda kyrkoruin

The history of Älmebode Church dates back to the 12th century. The church was rebuilt several times and the last major change was the addition in 1787. In 1877 a church was built in the nearby village of Ravemala and the local church was thus doomed to its fate. Nowadays there are only the remains of the outer wall and the inner area covered with grass is used for ceremonies.
There is a cemetery in the immediate vicinity of the church, but the gravestones are still being added. Just before the entrance to the church and cemetery area, a small parking lot for barely two cars.
