The Ásmundarstakkur is a fascinating stone pillar in shape that juts out of the sea an impressive 109 metres. Ásmundarstakkur can be found on the north coast of Suðuroy Island, about 2 kilometres west of Sandvík.
You can walk here from the village, or you can drive a little further and park at the local mini-park (this will save you about a kilometer of travel). From there you will walk through the countryside straight towards the sea.
