Dackegrottan (Hastmahult)

This cave by Nils Dacke is located in the woods near the town of Hastmahult. Nils Dacke was the leader of the most serious civil war in Sweden when the landowners fought against King Gustav I, whom they almost succeeded in overthrowing. The cave is a very small space about 3 metres long, 2 metres wide and maybe a metre high located under a huge boulder. If there wasn’t a newly made entrance and you didn’t know about it, the chances of discovering it would be slim. Turn off the main road onto a minor dirt road and after about two hundred metres you will reach a small parking lot. From there you will walk another 200m to the cave via the forest path.
