Gravfeltet på vang is one of the largest burial sites in northern Europe. There are about 900 burial mounds dating from 800 – 1000 AD. Some of the burial sites are older, dating from roughly 400 – 600 AD.
Many information boards will guide you through the site, illuminating the culture and customs of ancient times. Some of the finds from the site are on display at the Vitenskapsmuseet museum in Trondheim.
You can easily spend a few interesting hours in this area.
