Lathari beach and recreation area can be found 10 km east of Alta in the very north of Norway. Apart from the sandy pebble beach, which is so shallow that at low tide you have to walk tens of metres to the sea, you will find a number of benches, a fireplace, a larger number of climbing frames for children, two beach volleyball courts, and dry toilets in case of need.
A short walk along the forest path will take you to the Gaiddosjohkka River, which also empties into the ocean. Before that, it makes a 500 m curve around a small peninsula on which you can walk.
