Mykines (village)

Mykines is a village on the island of the same name in the Faroe Islands. It is the westernmost village of the Faroe archipelago and, with only 11 permanent inhabitants, one of the smallest. A stone church with a grass roof has stood here since 1878, and the population of Mykines reached its peak in 1925, when there were 179 permanent residents.

However, thanks to the emerging interest of tourists in the area, it seems that the village will not be abandoned completely.
