Steilneset minnested is a memorial in Vardø dedicated to the 91 people sentenced to death in connection with the witch trials of 1621. Two artists, the artist Louis Bourgeois and the architect Peter Zumthor, contributed to its creation. It is one of the places you should not miss when travelling through these remote areas.
