Virje is a beautiful waterfall, about 10 metres high, on the Glijuna River, which rises not far from here. This spring never runs dry, so unlike many waterfalls in the area, there will always be water in Virje Waterfall. Virje is located in the forests of the Julian Alps, and the water of the waterfall flows down a grassy rock wall, so it looks a bit exotic and the place literally invites you to swim thanks to the nice lagoon under the waterfall.
The Virje waterfall is located about 5 kilometres west of Bovec and is easily accessible from the nearby car park, from where you can walk for about 5 minutes.
